# Compare Sites

> Screen one Program across two to eight candidate Sites and get a cited comparison matrix.

A **site screen** takes one Program and runs a full Study on each candidate
Site, then lines the results up in a comparison matrix. Every row links to
the complete Study behind it.

## Start a screen

  <Step title="Select the Sites">
    On the **Sites** list, tick two to eight Sites **in the same
    jurisdiction**. Then click **Compare sites**. If the Sites are in
    different jurisdictions, the bar says so and the button stays off.

  <Step title="Describe the Program">
    Fill in **Program** (for example, "Elementary school, 250k GSF"),
    **Proposed use** (the use as the town's code names it), and
    **Project type**.

  <Step title="Add a required site area (optional)">
    **Required site area (acres)** lets the matrix check whether each parcel
    is big enough. Urbee records it as a number you stated, not a code
    requirement, and never guesses it from the use type.

  <Step title="Run it">
    Click **Screen N sites**. Urbee runs one full Study per Site.

## Read the matrix

Each row is a Site. Columns include **Use permission**, **District**,
**Parcel area**, **Program fit**, **Overlays**, **Environmental**,
**Triggers**, **Permit pathway** and **Confidence**. Click any column to sort.

Totals at the top count Sites by verdict: **As of right**, **Conditional**,
**Requires rezoning**, **Not possible**, **Undetermined** and
**Unavailable**.

Click a cell to see its evidence: the verbatim citation, what was compared,
and what was searched. Cells are marked by how the value was established:

| Cited | Backed by a verified citation |
| Derived by Urbee | Calculated from cited facts |
| You entered this | A number you provided, with who and when |
| Unverified extraction | Found but not verified, so no citation is served |
| Not found | Urbee searched and the source doesn't state it |
| Not screened / Unavailable | Not checked, or the Site's Study couldn't complete |

If one Site couldn't be screened, open its cell and click **Retry this site**.
That re-runs only that Site.

**Pros and cons** under the matrix are written only from the cited facts in
the matrix. Figures that don't appear in the matrix are rejected before
publication.
